Bishop and court counselor, known for his sanctity at an early age. He is called Ayoul in some lists. Aigulf was born in Bourges, France, where he became a hermit. In 811 he was named bishop of Bourges and served the people of the region faithfully. In 829, Aigulf attended the Council of Toulouse.
