Shop St. Alexander of Comana
Bishop and martyr, called "the Charcoal Burner" because he took up the profession for humility. He was chosen by St. Gregory Thaumaturgis as the bishop of Comana, Pontus, located along the southern Black Sea. St. Gregory had interviewed many candidates, but recognized Alexander as a saint, worthy of the office of bishop. Alexander is listed in the Roman Martyrology, and is believed to have been burned to death in Comana during the persecution of Emperor Decius.
