Born in Siena, he joined the Servites after listening to a moving sermon delivered by Blessed Ambrose Sansedoni, whose eloquence was the final inspiration for Francis to enter the religious life. St. Philip Benizi himself received Francis into the Servites. As a Servite. Francis distinguished himself with his holiness and his remarkable ability to solve crises of various kinds through his personal mediation.
